The Ho Chi Minh City International Travel Expo will stage its biggest edition to date this August, marking two decades since the fair’s founding in 2005. Organizers expect the show to host more than 520 exhibitors and brands, up from prior years, alongside 260 international buyers drawn from over 40 countries and territories. The Hosted Buyers Programme, described by organizers as the only initiative of its kind in Vietnam, will bring in delegations from companies including Tui Group, Dertour, Flight Centre Travel Group, American Express Global Business Travel, Trip.com Group and Luxury Escapes.

Scale And Format

The expo is projected to generate more than 21,000 pre-scheduled B2B appointments over its business days, with organizers forecasting roughly 30,000 total visitors, 600 international delegates and 60 international media representatives across the three-day run. From the afternoon of August 27, the fair opens to the public with destination showcases, cultural performances and consumer travel offers.

Regional Cooperation And Industry Forums

Beyond exhibitor booths, the 2026 program includes three tourism ministers’ meetings held under the CLV (Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam), ACMECS (Ayeyawady-Chao Phraya-Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy) and CLMV (Cambodia-Laos-Myanmar-Vietnam) frameworks, positioning the expo as a platform for intergovernmental tourism coordination as well as commercial dealmaking. Industry forums running alongside the trade floor will address artificial intelligence, MICE tourism, medical tourism, destination branding and travel technology, with participation from UN Tourism, PATA, the Global Sustainable Tourism Council, Google, Mastercard and EuroCham.

Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism director Pham Huy Binh said the 20th edition reflects the fair’s growth in scale, quality and international standing, and highlighted the role of public-private partnerships in advancing the city’s tourism development.
